Fall Food Drive
November 2026
Giving Thanks and Food
Throughout the month of November, the Marcella Foundation is running their Fall Food Drive! Using the established FeedTahoe food rescue program, we are asking for community efforts to provide non-perishable food to feed our community. Join us in this fall by donating, volunteering, or supporting local food pantries that distribute food in South Lake Tahoe.
How it works to become a donor partner:
What’s included in the food drive collection kit
A 40-gallon cardboard box with signage for collecting donations that community members drop-off
Collection Bin
Tote bags with attached Thanksgiving-themed shopping list for community members to donate and drop-off high demand items
Branded Tote Bags
Printed flyers to put up and a social media toolkit to advertise your business as a drop-off location and food drive partner

FAQs:
-
The food drive will run from November 1st - November 30th in South Lake Tahoe.
-
You can bring non-perishable food donations and place them in our collection bin at any of these businesses:
-
Do you represent a business that wants to host a collection bin at your location? Or do you have surplus food that you want to donate too? Fill out the form to sign up!
We will provide you collection containers for non-perishables, trays for prepared food, labels, signage, flyers, and anything else you need! This will be delivered ASAP after you sign up.
You can text our dispatch line (530-539-1719) and let us know when to pick up. Then, a FeedTahoe volunteer will come get the food and bring it to one of our nonprofit food partners. From there, they distribute it to community members in need.
Your food donations will go directly to families, students, veterans, seniors, and other community members who need it most. In South Lake Tahoe 19% of our community experiences food insecurity, so by donating you are actively fixing that. This food will make their holiday season so much brighter.
-
To help provide high-demand foods to our community, we are offering a tote bag with an attached Thanksgiving themed shopping list to folks who want to fill it. Follow the shopping list, fill the bag, and bring the bag back to one of our collection bin locations to be picked up. Our goal is to fill 500 bags to match the donation of 500 turkeys from Kings Meats this Thanksgiving.
